Trip 3: Sevan – Dilijan – Goshavank
Begin the trip with a visit to one of Armenia’s remarkable natural wonders and one of the world’s high-altitude freshwater lakes: Lake Sevan, also known as the “Blue Pearl of Armenia,” located approximately 2,000 meters above sea level. Lunch is suggested at one of the lakeside restaurants famous for their fish dishes. Continue to Dilijan, an Armenian town located northeast of the capital, Yerevan. Dilijan is renowned for its beautiful natural landscapes and mild climate. Many visitors call it the “Armenian Switzerland” because of its dense forested valleys and surrounding mountains. Dilijan lies along the banks of the Aghstev River, which stretches for more than 20 km. The surrounding valley is bordered by the Lesser Caucasus Mountains to the north and Mount Semyonovka Pass to the south. Dilijan is famous for its handmade carpets and traditional craftsmanship. The town has its own distinctive carpet-making style, along with woodworking and ceramics workshops along Sharambeyan Street, the historic center of Old Dilijan. Visitors can enjoy shopping for unique handmade souvenirs and traditional crafts while exploring Sharambeyan Street. The street features small shops where local artisans create and sell a variety of beautiful keepsakes. Next, visit Goshavank Monastery, a remarkable example of medieval Armenian architecture, known for its impressive stone carvings. This large monastic complex dates back to the 12th century and stands on a hillside overlooking Lake Gosh. Visit two churches within the complex and admire the intricate carvings and decorative stonework. The monastery also houses a memorial to its founder, Mkhitar Gosh.

Trip 4: Garni – Geghard – Lavash Baking
Discover the Armenian Countryside After breakfast, head to the pagan Temple of Garni, one of Armenia’s most visited historical landmarks. The Temple of Garni was subsequently reconstructed and restored during the 20th century. It stands on a hillside overlooking the magnificent Geghama Mountains. Continue to Garni Village, a traditional Armenian village known for its rich culture and heritage.
